Discord Data

When you use The Overseer bot, we collect your Discord user ID, username, server (guild) ID, message activity metrics (for XP tracking), voice channel participation data, and role information. We do not store the content of your messages.

Twitch Data

If you link your Twitch account, we collect your Twitch username, stream status, stream chat activity metrics, and viewer participation data for XP and recap features.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our services, including commands used, features accessed, and general usage patterns. This helps us improve our products.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain our services (XP tracking, leaderboards, rank systems)
  • Process Twitch integration features (stream announcements, recaps, chat XP)
  • Generate AI-powered trivia questions and manage game systems
  • Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access

  • Communicate with you about service updates

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with access controls and encryption. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our services integrate with the following third-party platforms:

  • Discord — We access Discord's API to provide bot functionality. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own Privacy Policy.
  • Twitch — We access Twitch's API for stream tracking and integration features. Your use of Twitch is governed by Twitch's Privacy Policy.
  • OpenAI — We use OpenAI's API to generate trivia questions. No personal user data is sent to OpenAI.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your server uses our services. If The Overseer is removed from a server, associated guild data may be retained for up to 30 days before deletion. You can request immediate deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Individual user data (XP, linked accounts) can be reset by server administrators or upon request.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
